How to Fix Auto Shutdown and Restart Problem on Windows

Step 1: Check Your System’s Bit Version

• On slect This PC and click right through Properties.

• Find out the two kinds of bits that is 64 or 32 in your system. Note it down.

 

Step 2: Open the Registry Editor (Regedit)

• Click on the ‘Start’ button, then press ‘Win + R’, then type ‘regedit’ and enter.
• Upon request, click “Yes” in order to launch the registry hub known as Registry Editor.

 

Step 3: Navigate to the Correct Registry Path

LM > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows

• Open the registry editor by pressing Win + R, type “regedit” and click on the OK button Right-click on ‘Windows’ then click on ‘New’ and finally select ‘Key’.

Step 4: Create a New Key

• Before that, navigate to “WindowsUpdate”, right click on it, click on “New”, and then “Key”.
• Give the new key the name “AU. ”

 

Step 5: Set the Value

• Click with the right button on “AU,” choose “New,” and the option depends on the operating system which is 32-bit – “DWORD (32-bit) Value”, and 64-bit – “QWORD (64-bit) Value”.
• Name it “NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers”
• Next, you’ll still right click on the new entry which appears in the opened window, go to Properties and set value there to 1. “

 

Step 6: Restart Your Computer

• Restart your computer. It is well understood that this has to be addressed.
